Open Water Dates 2012

The dates below are those which have been allocated for the taking of all Open Water Awards in 2012.
This also includes the under14 award.

Tuesday 29th  May	Tuesday 12th  June	Tuesday 14th  June
Tuesday 19th June	Thursday 21st June	Tuesday 3rd July
Thursday 5th July	Tuesday 17th July

These are the only dates available for 2012. All tests start at 5.45pm.
The above dates are subject to water availability, so the earlier dates are advisable to avoid disappointment.

PLEASE NOTE : The Water Sports Centre are putting a cost of  £2.50 per person (rescuers and casualties) this must be paid prior to entering the water. This is being charged for the use of the lake and the changing facilities

The prerequisite for the Bronze Cross states that open water experience must be shown. Any person taking the award for the first time or unable to produce their current Bronze or Silver Cross will be required to gain open water experience either by carrying out a mock test or acting as a casualty during a test.

All Silver Cross candidates will be required to produce their current Bronze or Silver Crosses on the day.
All casualties and candidates will require the following;- Swim Cap, Clothing for the test, Warm Drink, Examination form correctly filled in, Warm spare clothing for after the test.

Candidates must bring their own casualties. Each session will take place at The National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, actually on the rowing course. The point to liase will always be at the finish tower in front of the main building.
Hot showers are available immediately after the swim

The decision as to whether a test takes place is solely down to the examiner on the day. Unfortunately this decision can not be made until the actual day.
